Greater Manchester Data Synchronisation Programme (GMDSP)

Greater Manchester Data Synchronisation Programme

GMDSP was established to coordinate the release of open data between Manchester based innovation hub FutureEverything and Greater Manchester’s local authorities. Phase 1 consisted of Manchester City Council, Salford City Council and Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council. Phase 1 successfully saw the programme release 5 agreed data sets in open source format:
  • Council Tax Banding
  • Planning Applications
  • Allotments
  • Gritting Routes
  • Recycling Locations and Facilities
  • Street Lights

Data sets produced by the Greater Manchester Data Synchronisation Project can be found on the GMDSP website.

Phase 2 will see the original 3 Authorities joined by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Stockport Metropolitan Council and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. Two new data sets will be identified for release later in 2014, but these have not been agreed as yet.
